We all use coping strategies to deal with things in life, these can be both damaging (substance abuse) and rewarding (exercise). Finding a way to cope is unique to each person and sometimes it feels easier to use damaging coping strategies. See if you can build your self awareness and start to acknowledge how you cope. Remember these strategies are providing a function even if they are negative, don't remove them until you have another strategy you feel confident can replace them with. Above is a list of some common feelings with some general coping strategies that you can try, there are however many many more, if you try you will find something that fits you.
