If you have every worked in the emergency services or a job where you must make decisions in a crisis then you have probably come across the saying STOP, THINK, ACT. There are many variations of this, in scuba diving its STOP, BREATH, THINK, ACT. Ultimately what its teaching you is that when in a crisis you need to prioritise the essentials and that requires a pause and a thought. The Worry Tree is a method of helping you train yourself in first acknowledging you are in a crisis and then the essential next steps to take. It may initially seem too simplistic but when you are overwhelmed in a time of worry or panic having this to hand can be a very useful rock to grab hold of to keep you from spiralling down that negative pathway you have been before.
